The High Commission of India in Dhaka has introduced new mandatory regulations for all visa applicants. Moving forward, submitting a "Visa Undertaking Form" in the designated format along with all visa applications is now compulsory. Applications lacking this specific form will not be accepted.
The High Commission announced this directive on Thursday (November 5) via an emergency advisory published on its official visa portal.
According to the advisory, applicants must download the "Visa Undertaking Form" directly from the designated link provided by the High Commission, fill it out accurately, scan the completed document, and upload it alongside their online visa application on the NIC Visa Application Portal.
The High Commission emphasized that only the official prescribed format will be accepted. Undertakings submitted in any alternative format will lead to application rejection.
Key Information Required in the Form:
The single-page published undertaking requires applicants to initially declare that they will strictly confine their stay in India to the specific purpose stated in their application. Furthermore, applicants must affirm that they reside within the jurisdiction of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka as of the application date and that all provided information is accurate.
Part One: Personal details based on the applicant's passport, including full name, passport number, nationality, date of birth, and current residential address in Dhaka.
Part Two: The explicit purpose of the visit to India, such as tourism, business, medical treatment, or attending a conference.
Part Three and Onward: Several key pledges, including returning to the home country upon completion of the trip and under no circumstances overstaying the visa validity period in India.
Additionally, applicants must pledge to abide by the laws, regulations, and cultural norms of India during their stay and refrain from engaging in any unlawful activities. The form warns that any violation of the law may result in visa cancellation and negatively impact eligibility for future Indian visas.
Finally, applicants are required to sign, date, and state the location on the form. For minor applicants, signatures from both parents are mandatory.
